Enhancement in Workflow Automation - Metadata Capabilities

Situation: FileCloud aimed to enhance its Workflow Automation feature by integrating more robust metadata manipulation capabilities. Customer feedback indicated a need for automation that could assign and update metadata based on specific workflow triggers and conditions. This project was initiated to address these needs, providing users with the ability to automate metadata management seamlessly within their workflows, thereby improving efficiency and data organization

What I Did

• Project Planning and Management:
  • Led the project to enhance FileCloud's Workflow Automation with metadata capabilities.
  • Defined project scope, goals, and timelines.
  • Coordinated cross-functional teams, including development, quality assurance, and documentation
• Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
  • Conducted customer interviews and surveys to gather detailed requirements for metadata-based triggers, actions, and conditions.
  • Analyzed existing workflow automation features to identify areas for improvement and integration with metadata.
• Feature Design and Development:
  • Designed the "Assign Metadata" workflow step, allowing users to dynamically assign or update metadata values based on workflow triggers and conditions.
  • Implemented metadata-based triggers, enabling workflows to be initiated automatically when specific metadata changes occur.
  • Integrated metadata conditions into workflow logic, allowing for conditional branching and decision-making based on metadata values
• User Interface Design:
  • Designed an intuitive user interface for configuring metadata-based triggers, actions, and conditions within the workflow builder.
  • Ensured seamless integration with the existing workflow automation interface.
• Testing and Quality Assurance:
  • Developed and executed test cases to validate the functionality, accuracy, and performance of the metadata enhancements.
  • Collaborated with the quality assurance team to identify and resolve any issues or bugs.
• Documentation and Training:
